What is love?
What is love?
Mating of souls?
Or mere erotic desire?
How difference know?
Trial and error pain always be?
Why not love first sight true?
Remind me, tell me, how does it start?

Eyes’ deep into each other gazed?
Helplessly, suddenly, hearts turned inside out.
Hearts’ gentle breath caution carries.
Hearts’ risk of original love.
Trembling steps of trust.
Open and exposed.
Vulnerable be.

Delicate desire for the nearly forgotten love gaze.
Love’s hope gently cradled.
Heart again cradled.
Have we been here before?
Must have been.
What doors to open.
What doors to close.

Moon’s naked shimmer . . .
The bodies of one.
The rush and rising of the same breath.
Why not love true of the first sight?
Remind me, tell me, how does it start.
