Eagle Canyon

Eagle Canyon

What is love?
Mating of souls?
Or mere erotic desire?
How difference know?
What of love first sight true?
Remind me, tell me, how does it start?

Eyes’ deep into each other gazed
Helplessly, suddenly, hearts turned inside out
Hearts’ gentle breath caution carries
Hearts’ risk of original love
Trembling steps of trust
Open and exposed

Delicate desire for the nearly forgotten love gaze
Love’s hope gently swaddled
Heart again cradled
Have we been here before?
Must have been
What doors to open
What doors to close

Dream . . .
Moon’s naked shimmer . . .
Bodies of one . . .
The rush and rising on the same breath . . .
Remind me, tell me, how does it start?
