A Long Winding Road

by Esther Thornburg
(Cantril, Iowa USA)

Happy Anniversary!

Who knew the road would be so long?
So many stories!
So much laughter!
So many songs.
The rhythm plays on.

Some clouds were silver lined.
Some days filled with sunshine.
Times of wonder,
Times of waiting,
No time wasting.

Traveled roads without end,
Memories of old friends,
Duties without number!
Hobbies galore!
Activities more!

Who knew the road would be this long?
Where have all the calendars gone?
The road leads on
and on.
