Each one of us has their favorite homespun athlete who seems to come up with quotable gems as often as they get a hit or score a goal. We are talking about men and women like Casey Stengel and Yogi Berra in the United States, Kevin Keegan in the UK, and Johan Cruyff in the Netherlands.

These athletes entertain us as often off the field as they do on the pitch or court.

Here are a couple of sayings from one of the most quotable atheletes of all time, Yogi Berra. Berra was an all-star catcher for the New York Yankees, who made it to the Hall of Fame for his baseball skills, not his famous witticsms. Should they ever add a "Witty Sayings" section to the Hall, Berra is a shoe-in to be voted in a second time.
