Family Poems

Family Silhouette

You know the old saying, "you can't choose your family". The Family Poems collection takes a loving look at this most formative of relationships. From the zany uncles to noisy holiday gatherings, the writers at My Word Wizard have really captured the many hues of life with our kith and kin.

Remember the Thanksgiving when Uncle Joe challenged you to eat a spoonful of horseradish? You did and were five dollars richer! What about the time little Ashley spoke her very first words, right at the family Christmas gathering!

The family unit is an important part of our growth and development. Sometimes the definition of family is not always cut and dry. For many of us, our friends serve as our closet relations, becoming every bit as important to us as any bond formed by blood ties.

Whether you're estranged from your loved ones, or you just can't get enough of them, here you will find an assemblage of thoughts that will really hit home.

They may be exasperating at times, but you are lucky to have them. Let them know just how you feel with these poignant words of love.
