A MISTRESS OF CONCISION

by Ariette Singer
(Canberra, ACT, Australia)

"Concision is interpreted as intelligence"
Science Report, ABC Radio National program

I am dubbed a "mistress of concision",
And most 'concise' I will forever stay!
It was not at all my conscious decision -
It seems, from birth, I was made that way!
But all can strive to achieve speech concision,
To avoid time-waste, stress and prevent confusion.
Concision is a splendid goal to aspire to attain,
But non-ambitious have a right to inconcisive remain.
