A Mothers Touch

by Matthew Yoder
(Reynoldsville, PA, United States)

Making sure that I am warm
as you lay me down to sleep,
and softly speaking loving words
as you kiss me gently on the cheek.
Greeting me when I awake
with your loving arms,
and through the day protecting me
and keeping me from harm.
You give me praise when I do well
and support me when I am trying.
From my eyes you wipe my tears
and give me comfort when I am crying.
You are always there to catch me
and help me understand,
and always when I need you,
you hold my little hand.
Your sacrifice and loving heart
and all the little things you do,
is why this day I give thanks,
because my mom is you!
