A perfect white Christmas

by sarah lou
(dundee, scotland)

Lying peacefully, undisturbed, while children cover the floor in bright Santa filled paper
Putting the orange to one side to get to the chocolate in their stockings
Bike wheels mark the snow while children laugh
Snowmen with tinsel for a scarf
It lies there soaking it all in
The laughter seeping deeper in
Midnight strikes
It relives the day’s merry memories
Another wave of snow comes to see Boxing Day
And the rest of the family
