A Poem to the Lord

Send me down an angel to watch and care for me
Send me down an angel to set my spirit free
My heart it is so heavy, my mind is full of pain
Send me down an angel so I can smile again

Send me down an angel to show me that you care
For when I look around for you it seems that you're not there
I know my heart is breaking
my tears are falling rain
Send me down an angel so I can smile again

Send me down an angel to hold my hand and say
I'm here to take good care of you in God's own special way

Please send me down an angel for I don't know what to do
I'm all alone with all these thoughts
I really do need you

Send me down an angel and let my spirit shine
for when I know that you are with me I know peace will be mine
