A Rose For You

by K Hoffman
(Morristown, NJ , USA)

Of what use this single flower
Which blooms today
And is but a memory tomorrow?
It has no worth like food or money;
It can't be saved like jewels or honey.
If you could count the gleams of joy,
The tears of love and the hours of toil,
The sum is too great, the column too tall;
The total too grand to write down at all!
