A SMILE THAT ISN'T

by Dr. Rick McGrath, Ph.D.

A SMILE THAT ISN’T

Behind her pretty smile
Her heart is broken
Hope she had, gone
Copping for awhile
She can’t understand why

Behind that lovely smile
Lays the reality of truth
One she isn’t ready to share
For who will really care?

Behind that gracious smile
She cries out for some help
Who will feel her pain?
Tears hidden in the rain.

Behind her smile
A broken heart cries…
