A Soldier's Birthday Life

by Deannia Murphy
(Giddings, TX, USA)

A soldier's life is hard you see
a month of birthdays spent away from me.

Birthdays come and go with only the glint
on the fallen snow. With the wishes that we
will see you again and know your loving hand.
We know your sacrifice and know the love of your
life.

The love of your life is God, Country, Family and
the Fallen man who will forever be your brand.

A soldier's life is hard you see for the family, God
and Country. Family who misses you dear, God who will
always weep a tear and the Country who is thankful
for your sacrifice.

So on this birthday you see all of us will celebrate with
glee the sacrifice you have made for you and me
to remember the month of birthdays you spent away from me,
for your God, Country and Family.
