After 50 years

Alice Valentine

When you were young and I was young,
our love just barely alive
We took a chance on teen romance,
and true love was our prize
A diamond ring, a special thing,
for the whole world to see
But still I feel, what made it real, is when you looked at me
A time or two, we were untrue,
We both knew we were wrong
Though tempers flamed, the faith remained,
Our love was just too strong
Reflexions of, a lasting love,
so special from the start
A million years can never steal this passion in our hearts
