An Assortment of Haiku

by CHARLES COIRO
(ESCAZU, SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA)

ON SEEING THE FULL MOON:

EVERYONE ASLEEP
THE WINDOW WAS LEFT OPEN
MOONLIGHT FLOODS THE FLOOR

**

LEAVES IN AN AUTUMN MORNING:

LEAVES, YELLOW, RED CHATTING
A MORNING BREEZE IS BLOWING
DO THEY SPEAK OF ME?

**

DARK AND LIGHT:

BUTTERFLIES DANCING
ORANGE AND YELLOW FLOWERS
ARE BOTH NECTARS SWEET?

**

CHOICES:

SITTING IN SHADOW
RAYS OF SUNSHINE JUST IN FRONT
ARE BOTH PART OF LIFE?

**

JEALOUSY IN THE HEAVENS:

BEAUTIFUL BLUE SKY
CLOUDS TRY TO HIDE YOU FROM VIEW
BOTH ARE BEAUTIFUL

Haiku
by: Eve

Hello Charles--I really enjoyed your Haiku. You followed the rules completely and each one created a clear image that caused the reader (at least me)to pause and think. Well done!!
