AN UNSUNG HERO

by Dr. Rick McGrath, Ph.D.
(Modesto, CA)

There are many heroes you know
Those who give their lives for you
Unselfish they are without any care
No medals, no recognition it’s true

In battle long ago my friend and me
He stood to take a bullet you see
For me he did this that black day
As many in battle died that way.

When we think of heroes you say
For those that gave life in this way
I know who the real heroes are
My heart for them I bare their scar.
