Another Day

by Nitah

The day's events have put me down
I struggle to stay firm on the ground.
Behind that smile, that perfect smile
Is a girl well hidden with burdens as long as the Nile.
When nobody sees,
I unleash all my misery
As I struggle to be me
In a world that's not so free.
The day wears on,
more things could go wrong.
Just another day trying to be me,
As my woes hold me in captivity.

Dear Nitah: I loved your poem of strugglings: I smiled and loved the line about the long river and that that line in the poem was long like the river. Nice imagery. Also, I am in process of writing a book on happiness and would love to include your poem if you agree. Please do email me with an approval if you agree. Also, there is no payment invoved and full credit will be given to your poem and where it appeared herein. thank you. RHP
