At First Sight

by S
(NYC)

Words may speak volumes
Yet volumes alone, offer but a glimpse
Into a heart now open, once closed.
A stranger becomes a stranger no more
In an instant, a moment, a whisper of a second.
It was wonderful to have seen you, he said to her, eyes alight.
It was wonderful to have been seen, she said to him, to herself,
to the darkness of an ending night.
