Bar

by Duke
(Gulf Coast)

You are my bar- to which I held on to
But I lost my grip- and I fell right through
For you were my heart- but you’ll never know
That you tore me apart – when you let me go.

You are my dove- my angel, my hell
For you brought me life- then from you I fell
Yes you are my love-this pain that I bare
And I wish you still loved me-I wish you still cared

You are my dog- who comes back in time
I see the pain in your eyes- they are the same as mine
No, I cannot grab on- for I have fallen too far
Now you will die with me- for I am your bar.
