Blank Scars

by Amy Beth
(Brighton)

Slice through deep layers
Cut away through the surface
A crimson wave appears
A flow that is better than any tears

Memories etched on to the skin
Immortal scars fade to white
A blank canvas full of emotions
Of a life that barely has any notions

Long sleeves to hide the pain
A lie of a smile to convince
No one is to ever have known
Of the pain that was never shown
