CHARITY

In one’s giving where is the clarity?
Is giving to others an act of charity?
Or is it more for self gratification?
The feeling of personal satisfaction.

Knowing that you did something good
Perhaps it was all the money you could
Who really came away with the blessing?
Many do it all for the window dressing.

We give because we think it’s right
We’re taught to give even when tight
Can we give without reward in mind?
Here on earth or of heaven’s kind.
