Cricket Talk

by Luis Ullán
(Salamanca, Spain)

Another day in the world
while crickets talk with overrated words,
arguing they know what is life.
“It´s just about being alone, —says one—
or that´s what they say”.
“Did you mean being safe?” —hits the other,
as silence grows inside them.

Knowledge was never closer
to the biggest answer:
“There must be a place, —says one—
where we can be forever free”.
“I get it —as a response—
you mean at the top of that tree”.
