"Crossing The Bridge"

by Linda K. Carpenter
(Huntington, Indiana)

Crossing the bridge I see a new day beginning.
A place to reflect as I look into the water below,
and see a union of a cocoon cross over to a
butterfly.
A deep connection of spiritual enlightenment that
sees the creation in life to change and illuminate
our insight into a world we can create with love.
To glide across the bridge as if there were rough
spots there, but conquer them the butterfly did,
expanded its wings to flow with the air currents.
He flew to the water below, and sipped its gentle
waves to quench a thirst of wanting more.
Tenderly he cried a wet flutter, and knew he had
to re-create to where he was, to now.
A new testament to be greater than before, a
masterpiece of wonder.
