Spines of sundry colors
tattooed with precious words
line the perfect bedding
gathering by herds

Relish the kaleidoscope
gaze upon your treasure
touching each leather column
a predilection of pleasure

Beautiful they are
filled with such narration
captivating tales
giving me salvation

Lives cast upon the pages
secrets to be told
pain, sorrow, and laughter
for all those living bold

Life without these pearls
despairing it would be
barren of creativity
in doldrums would be me

Like velvet to my fingers
I caress each creamy leaf
flipping through the chronicles
that's cast upon the sheaf

All consuming it becomes
as hours slip away
this is where I want to be
and how I spend my day
