Damned

by Raymond Kibiwott Bundotich
(Ghent, Belgium)

Everything's imperfect
the future's so unclear;
everyone expects me to be perfect
so failure, i must fear;
a convict of regrets
i feel death growing near,
maybe i'll burn in hell
for all the mistakes, i have made;
i bow my head, fall on my knees
plead with my God, to defray me of my sins
to grant my soul peace;
i open my eyes, everything's scarlet
the whole world burns around me
my happiness in flames
everybody around me, they begin to flee
my life is bleeding,

just like in time
every second bares something new,
in my life
every day brings something new;
a blessing, a curse; new things are bad or good
that's why i'm always confused
all that comes my way is far from good;
i'm stuck between false and true
because happiness seems like a hoax to me. ...
