Dear Dad

by Elizabeth Leigh Nichols
(Cape Coral, FL)

Dear Dad,

Today I reminisce on the times we've had;
Some long ago.....some good, some bad.
like when you patched my face
when the gravel I ate...riding my little girl bike;
you didn't hesitate
On the bathroom counter I sat
with a face full of stones...
You patiently removing them one by one.
My all star game
Only you did come
Because of you I wasn't alone.
The trying times I put you through ...
Sneaking out my window during summer school
Happy hours, family BBQs...
Drinking too much & shooting pool!
Thankful for the memories we have...
But most thankful that I call you my DAD!
