Dearest Mom and Dad

by Kenneth Hoffman
(Morristown, NJ , USA)

All the teachers in the world
Couldn't know what I know -
That the person who I am
Is the one who you let grow.
You were there watching
But never interfering.
You were there guiding:
You let me do the steering.
The new love in my life
Will never replace
All the love for you both
That my mind can embrace.
So take a bow, enjoy the applause,
All the profits are mine,
The kudos are yours.
