Diving

by Amanda Blanchard
(North Carolina)

I take you into me
as voraciously as I devour the sun
I swallow you whole
and envelop your entire body
cradle you as you
delve into my murky depths -
you prod my secrets
you lighten the pitch
you marvel at the grandeur -
can you feel the currents start to shudder?
I writhe against your slick skin
your words bubble against mine
as they mouth my deep, dark veil -
I swell with your body inside me
you fight the urge to end
but the end comes
too sweet, too fast, too deliciously -
I want to hang on forever
but a consumption once sated
keeps pleasure from returning
so I wait to devour you once more
