Don't Belong

by Ellie Longfield
(Queensland)

Do you ever feel like
you don't belong
Like your mind is turning in
two different directions
You want to leave
But you want to give it all a try
again and again
Your face is full of hope
But inside you feel the sorrow of
knowing you're invisible

Your face is blushing when you pass him by
But you know it's not worthwhile
Fighting against the most popular
Shall not bring you victory but
the scratches of nails
You think she's your friend
But she is only waving to the person behind

You feel like a fool
But who cares about your feelings
You're only a speck of dust in the blowing wind
I never knew school was so tough
