Drought of life.

by Geetha Paniker
(Chennai, Tamil nadu, India)

I sigh,
an internal battle in the mind -
a drought in my parched soul
stuck in the journey of life
hanging between
presumtions and assumptions.

The walk of life painful
wearing my trust off
in the relationships of life
at the threshold
of my sunset years.

The vast expanse of the sky
smiles at me acknowledging my thoughts,
fills the reservoir of my soul
with its beauty
giving me wings to fly.

A feeling of wonder and awe
invades the drought-hit heart
rejuvenating my soul,
in the silent solitude of nature
motivating my mind.
