Dumbstruck

It was clear to all, her meaning
as a crystalline lake, she spoke
with a look
that was cold & demeaning
and left me void of hope

It was clear to all, who saw her
that my chances were very slim
but my vision was blurred
when I saw her &
my thought processes
dimmed.
