Echo's Edge

by Teresa Ann Frazee
(Boynton Beach,FL, USA)

Dry-tongued strays awaken, fulfilled from marrow stoked dreams
Their barks fade in the odyssey of a transforming day
In a soft treble came a birds warbling melody
As time leads the symphony of the echo’s edge astray

The fragrant breath of saints descends upon a lush land
At the height of noon the sun delves deep into the unknown
Reflective light pours over cascading branches and leaves
And casts their shadow on a salamander’s resting stone

The present and future entwine in an enamored dance
In a thick ambrosial field where topaz grasses lean
On destiny’s road down winding paths washed in the under light
Behind backyard trees the past disappears into the green
