FORGOTTEN MEMORIES

FORGOTTEN MEMORIES

Deep within the inner mind
Once memories freely flowed
Now emptied, lost in time.

I was here but now I’m not
Minute by minute I’m leaving
A light so bright now so dim.

So many travel with affliction
I wished I could but now I can’t
I see you but I don’t know you.

You say you know who I am
But who are you to tell me so?
How do you know if I don’t?

When you see me along the way
Be sure to take me by the hand
Because I have lost my way this time.

As I am now so very old
My memory they say is gone
It would be nice if I could remember.
