God's Only Son

God's only son was living with the Father,
Long before this world as we know was made.
He has a plan lasting through all the ages,
Caring for those who believe in Him.

He came to earth to love, heal and forgive
That we, through Him, may have His spirit within.
He gave His word through the ages heard
To guide our way, to be complete in Him.

He walked in the streets of old Jerusalem.
They knew Him not as the Son of God.
It was His own stood by Him to the end.
They were there after the stone rolled away.

He will guide our life through the journey here.
He hath promised newness of life.
When Christ shall appear, the believer
Will appear with Him in glory.
