Gone

by Emma Parsons
(Grande Prairie, AB)

Would they notice if she was gone.
Would all the hateful words that stung
like salt in a wound disappear.
Going deeper and deeper drowning in the words.

Her sight was cloudy.
Her heart was full of sadness.
Her wrists stung,
The hateful words had gotten to her
and she had given up.

She was truly beautiful
and she did not know.
