Her Kiss

by Biljana Petrova
(Skopje Macedonia)

Her kiss was cold, loveless
Her last goodbye a marble sculpture to sobriety
He missed the old days of passion and desire
But that fire was to be rekindled no more.

Her kiss was cold, loveless
Her footsteps soft in the snow
And as she moved away the snowflakes took care
to cover all traces. Soon memories will lose faces
And by the next snowfall it will not show.

As if it never happened.
Between heartbeats, as if it were but a pause.
His thoughts were frozen, listless
He was not sorry to let her go.
