Hidden Hero

by Lucy
(Ashford, United Kingdom)

Waves crashing on the rocks,
My friend still as the wind strikes,
Days like this when I would shout,
My buddy there without a doubt,

I'm worn and i'm torn,
I'm battered and i'm bruised,
I'm old and i'm wrinkled,
And I'm long, long gone,

I stand here in bitter winters,
Lone beneath the rays of the sun,
I saved lives long ago,
I am a lighthouse that's good to go,

No one can deny it,
There's a hidden hero inside it.
