HOPE

by Martins Faleru
(Istanbul, Turkey)

Everywhere is bleek without a ray of light
Darkness seems to dominate every portion of life.
The tears of my eyes are dropping like rain drops on the roof of a house
My bed is wet because I have soaked myself with the tears of my eyes
My eyes are heavy and I cannot close them to sleep.
I hear a voice that is whispering hope!
Hope! hope!! hope!!! I am shocked by the voice because there is darkness everywhere.
I raise my voice with the word I hear; HOPE! HOPE!! HOPE!!!
I say the word without hesitation, with a strong voice, and the darkness disappears in a tickle of the eye.
The ray of light appears full of hope.
Hope seems to be the bedrock of life, hope I say.
