Humpty Dumpty

by Santa Geekie
(Mkuze, South Africa)

We all know that humpty sat on the wall
And below was raging a civil war
Between all the kings horses and all the kings men
That tried to catch a legless hen

Humpty lost his cool
And fell off the wall like a fool
They scooped him up and put him in a pan
And the king scrambled an egg that morning again

At the table he started to mumble
He sat back and his chair took a tumble
Sprawled out on the floor
The men came rushing through the door

With his tummy in the air
The king started to swear
He fired all his men
And condemned any Humpty to sit on the wall again
