It’s been several days
Since I’ve seen you last.
It seems so long,
Like a decade has past.
I miss the way you hold my hand
And how you make me laugh.
I miss the way we talk all night
And sit on the patio at the sun’s first light.
I pray that you come home soon
While I hope we're staring at the same moon.

lulling me to sleep each night.

You’ve been gone for quite a while.
I miss you,
And all I do is think about your beautiful smile.
In my dreams I see you
Telling me how much you love me.
It's been so long since I've heard your voice.
But joining the army
Was always your first career choice.
I know your free time is rare
And that you don't have much time to spare.
Just know you're missed and deeply loved.
