In the stillness of my memories
Held close in my distant past
The essence of your love
I can remember at last

The way you made me laugh
The way you made me smile
The feelings we shared
As we walked the distant miles

The ancient love for me
Retained in eyes so deep
Held up for me to see
My love you made me weep

For nothing in the future
Or anything else I find
Could ever bring more beauty
From a heart so kind

And as I walk through my new journey
With no one by my side
I'll have the strength to do it
With no more wish to hide

To hide from love
Or fear to trust
These are the things I must do
And again I'll be the dove

That is the gift you gave me
I won't forget again, not ever
That love was meant to be
Yesterday, today and forever.
