Iceburn

by Parrish Lantern
(Canterbury)

It was clear to all her meaning
as a crystalline lake, she spoke
with a look
that was cold & demeaning
left me void of hope

It was clear to all who saw her
that my chances were very slim
but my vision was blurred
when I saw her, and
my thought processes,
dimmed.
