I'm Sorry

by LUCY
(Portishead, Somerset, England)

I’m sorry,
to all my friends and family.
I now know why people say I should have died,
but I bet you those people would have cried.
They say I’m from hell.
They named me Lucy,
but most people called me Lucifer.
A lot of people died around when I was born,
I was an unlucky baby.
I nearly died at birth,
and when the doctors stabbed me with needles.

I’m sorry,
for the things I’ve said and done,
and I owe you about a quid.
Why don’t I just end my life,
I would never be a good wife.
Who am I kidding?
I'm stupid as people call me.
If I end it now maybe those people will be happy,
I cry myself to sleep thinking it will get better,
but the rain keeps getting me wetter.
I’m sorry I’m not what you wanted,
I’ll leave soon so don’t worry.
If you listen to me one more time,
I’m sorry...
