In Silence

by Anwesha Mohanty
(India)

In silence I hear your voice
When I see a monkey hug her child I see your love
When I hear a cow cry, I see myself begging for food every morning
The thought of you makes me choke in pain
Hey ma! How have you become the center of my world
Do you hear my voice when someone opens the door
Do you see me by the easel when you go to my room
Hey ma! It's not love that I lack
It's your warmth that I crave for.
I don't think I can ever say good bye.
