In The Heavenly Choir

by Ralph Randolph Sawyer
(Houston, Texas)

Just beyond the sparkling sea
Is a land of make believe
I often go there in the night
So softly I sleep in pure delight
I make only one request
Please, do not disturb my rest
In pleasant slumber I retire
I listen to the heavenly choir
With their voices soft and low
The angels sing a song I know
I enjoy the heavenly songs
Sung in a choir I now belong
I have made my heavenly trust
I have parted, now I must
Tune the harps and polish the gold
From now on until I’m told
I have earned my wings in time
From now on this joy is mine
In this choir so full of love
I join in music from above
