In the Wood

by Renee Butler
(New Hampshire)

Nothing can stop me from a walk in the wood.
A cool autumn.
to the trail
I just stood
The leaves rustle in the wind through the trees.
Crunch beneath my feet.
The sweet smell of decay.
Such a lovely day.
Soon to be snow. Changes I know. Walking again. Alone with my thoughts. This place I do love. This place I get lost.
