incongruity

by Helena Draven
(W-S, NC)

souls and bones fuel the furnace of undoing

suffering pleasure to bury the pain

truth behind eyes amber petals flame

skin on skin breath behind breath

i grieve

angst eyes blue behind gray

tenuous grasping firefly pain

arias of soaring despondency

bringing chaos feeding flames

i ache

fingery flurries of grinding rage

torment incarnate wanders timeless

panic driven battering fistless

fledgling wonder bringing hate

i erode

gaping maw of gnashing regard

senseless drifting voiding existence

slavering terror gripping mindless

temporal disregard forgotten madness

i surrender
