Infernal Black

by Jehiel Eugean Taylor
(New York)

The city is full, dark, not alight...

The city is full, dark, not alight...

The city is full, dark, not alight...
Neon shimmers in the black of Night
Mountains of man's creation loom,
The horizon is aglow .
Bleeding into midnight...
Stars glisten in the dome of heaven
Pinholes to another reality.
I lie watching,
The celestial fires of distant realms, flow...
Dance the eternal waltz of oblivion.
A city dark and vast, Canyons of annihilation.
Only light is heaven's fire,
Midnight has come to pass.
City full Dark!
Lighting strobes on Horizon edge...
Watching the wraiths gather in time...
Dance and twirl, Crack!
Only a damn nation knows,
I lie awake watching the eternal heavenly war
Aglow, infernal black.
