Inferno

by Daniel Robinson
(Arcadia, Albion.)

We start toward Dante's Inferno,
In Death's first ringing klaxon of light,
In this purgatorial nightmare,
Paradise serves as our lie.

Abandon all Hope ye who enter,
Survival is your only feat,
Sighs, lamentations and loud cries,
Accents of anger you'll meet.
