Inward Chains

by Trinket_Writer

Slats breaking up my vision
blocking bits and pieces
causing me contention

Like half closed shades
shutting out important visions
tearing the picture up with blades

Dripping from my heart
the urge to run about, yet
..all I sense is bondage tearing me apart

The picture although snowy
..frigid, bleak and crisp
would surely melt away when walking very brisk

Animals we are not to be
..trapped inside like such
longing to feel nature,
..with its warming touch

Choosing your direction
selecting your own space
this could be the key, giving us connection

If only we knew then
how pain and fear can trap us
we could break the walls of misery
and grind them into dust
