Just a Laugh & Smile

by Elizabeth Leigh Nichols
(Cape Coral, Fl. USA)

Your smile sent a hundred words...
my incessant babble made them unheard.
your laughter shook my heart awake...
again and again,
still I didn't wake.

Although I heard a heart so true
innocent laughter that only grew...
I wasn't really listening to you.
you!... who i didn't know i knew.

It's the ones in the way
of what you're looking for... who steps aside, opens the door.

That's the one!
who,
who you've been looking for.

I'm captured now by what could be.
enraptured now by what I've seen
Pandora's box it just might be,
or simply maybe...... Destiny?
